Who we are
We are a foundation of scuba divers, freedivers, instructors and friends of Polish waters. We believe diving is more than a sport — it is access to a world someone has to care for.

The Polish Subsurface Initiative — PSI for short, like the Greek letter Ψ that looks like a trident — is being founded in 2026 by two divers: Bartłomiej Bartnicki and Stanisław Golba, the founders of PSI. Instead of complaining that “someone should do something” about littered dive sites, we are setting up an organisation that does it itself.
We work in three directions — like the three prongs of our trident:
- Education — trainings, workshops and open materials about safety and Polish waters.
- Ecology — underwater cleanups and protection of water bodies.
- Exploration — expeditions, competitions and documenting underwater places.

Diving instructor and technical diver. Water is his element and exploration is a way of life: he loves wrecks, caves and depth, because that is where the unseen begins.

How we work
PSI is a foundation — it has no members and no fees. We pursue our statutory goals together with volunteers and partners, and every złoty goes to public-benefit activity.

Governing bodies
The foundation is run by a one-person Board — the President of the Board, appointed for a 3-year term (the first one by the founders, the next ones by the Foundation Council). The Board is supervised and audited by the Foundation Council, whose members are appointed by the founders.
